Meet Our Staff Bet Elazraki Work with Our Kids Daily Schedule Campus
At Midreshet Torat Chessed, we believe in the power of a multi-faceted year-in-Israel experience. Our program combines serious Torah learning with meaningful and intensive chessed in a way that is life altering, as each aspect mutually enhances the other. Our students spend their mornings and evenings immersed in Torah learning, and then devote their afternoons to the amazing children at Bet Elazraki.
Throughout your year at MTC, you will strengthen your connection to three core pillars of Judaism:
TORAT YISRAEL
You will spend your mornings and evenings learning about – and engaging with – your Jewish tradition. Through stimulating classes and discussions with expert educators, you will gain a better understanding of yourself and your Judaism. The unique atmosphere at MTC and Bet Elazraki will enable you to grow spiritually while the combination of classes and time learning in the Bet Midrash will arm you with the skills necessary to build a life of continued Torah learning and Avodat Hashem.
AM YISRAEL
Your afternoons will be dedicated to the children of the Bet Elazraki children’s home where you will become their counselors, mentors, and friends. Through playing, helping and working with these special children, you will truly be living what you learn. You will develop a deep connection with them, become an integral part of their lives and experience the amazing feeling of helping another. You will learn the power of giving - and that giving is really receiving.
ERETZ YISRAEL
You will experience the land like never before. Through fun and exciting tiyulim, your learning will come alive and you will deepen your appreciation of our nation’s past, present and future. We will experience numerous shabbatonim together in communities across the country, providing a window into the beautiful tapestry of Israeli society. At Bet Elazraki, you will be working alongside 50 benot sherut - Israeli girls your age spending their year in national service - who will introduce you to Israeli culture and quickly become your friends.
