Yeshivat Mitzpe Yericho

Yeshivat Mitzpe Yericho, founded  and led by Rav Shabtai Sabato and his son, Rav Yitzchak Sabato, is a Yeshiva Gavoha which has been dedicated to high level learning and Avodat Hashem for almost 40 years. With over 200 talmidim and avreichim in the Yeshiva, with Hashem’s help, we are launching a new overseas program designed specifically for modern Orthodox Religious Zionist American high school graduates who are seeking an enriching and transformative year in Eretz Yisrael. 

Yeshivat Mitzpe Yericho is located in the scenic Judean Desert (only 20 minutes from Yerushalayim), offering a unique environment that combines rigorous Torah study with a strong sense of community,  connection to Eretz Yisrael, and passionate dedication to Am Yisrael. The yeshiva is molded by the vision of Rav Avraham Yitzchak Hakohen Kook zy’a. This vision of a strong spiritual and physical land of Israel with emphasis for love for every Jew is the guiding tenet of Yeshivat Mitzpe Yericho. 

Our Yeshiva is a place where the power of Torah and the spirit of Am Yisrael come alive at any hour. It’s a serious environment where commitment to Torah, Am Yisrael, Eretz Yisrael, and Medinat Yisrael is paramount. When you enter our Beit Midrash, you will see a wide array of  students, from those in traditional black and white attire to those in their army uniforms, bigdei kodesh, learning Torah between shifts defending our people and land. 

The Yeshiva is situated in Mitzpe Yericho, a community of dedicated individuals who are mission driven, and live with purpose. Jewish family life, settling the Land of Israel, and acts of chessed are the pillars of the Yishuv. Our yeshiva is  fully dedicated to the land, state, army, and people of Israel. This year has been incredibly challenging for Am Yisrael, marked by great loss, pain, and sacrifice. We've lost some of our most outstanding students who gave their lives for our people and land. Yet, we've also witnessed an unprecedented awakening among our people in Israel and the diaspora.

Some argue that the flag of Torah can be separate from the flag of Israel. Our yeshiva embraces a Torah of connection, love, and heroic dedication to our people and homeland. To a high school senior  who has felt a deep connection to Am Yisrael and Eretz Yisrael- Yeshivat Mitzpe Yericho is where they can deepen that connection. Here, they’ll feel the pulse of our nation, our Torah, and our land in every moment. Highlights of our program include:

• High-Level Yeshiva Gavoha Atmosphere: The yeshiva is a Yeshiva Gvoha with a dedication and level of learning which is inspiring and serious. Learning features engaging shiurim and chavruta study with experienced Ramim. The focus in our derech halimmud is on Gemara, Halacha, Tanach, Machshevet Yisrael, Emunah and Chassidut.

• Personal Development: A nurturing, intimate environment that encourages students to grow as individuals and as dedicated members of Am Yisrael. A major part of this development is based on our focus on limudei emunah, learning and living with major works of emunah written by chazal and our great tzadikkim. 

• Connection to Eretz Yisrael: Regular tiyulim and experiences that connect our students to the land and history of Israel. The implementation of true Torat Eretz Yisrael, in which talmidim learn to live united with Torah and Am Yisrael in the holy land, is emphasized. Torat Eretz Yisrael expressed through shlichut, responsibility and mission to others, is a pillar of our Yeshiva.

• Vibrant Yishuv Community: Students will be warmly welcomed into the Yishuv community. They’ll enjoy Shabbatot, Chagim, and special occasions in amazing home atmospheres. Additionally, talmidim of the Yeshiva will be regularly welcomed into the homes of our Yishuv leaders to learn from them and garner life lessons from their dedication to building community in the land of Israel.
